1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
I would not change my name even if I could. Hawaiian people believe that birth names often express the qualities hoped for a child and can be powerful. After much thought and talking with elders to be sure that the name was good and had a good meaning, my parents named me Kamalani which means “heavenly child” or “beloved child of heaven.” I love my name and I especially love the meaning of it.
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
My favorite day of the week is Saturday because it’s the day that I am able to relax after a long week of school and cheerleading unless I have a volunteer event.
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
My favorite movie as a child was Matilda. She did not have a good upbringing and did not have any guidance from her parents, but instead of giving up she learned to read on her own, went to school and eventually discovered that she has telekinetic powers which she uses for good to help with her sufferings and to help her friends too.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
Cheerleading is my passion and my favorite sport. I love cheerleading because it’s a good mix of tumbling, stunting and dance. It has taught me to be strong both physically and mentally and because I have been a Captain for years, it has taught me to be a great leader and motivator.
